Sediment Water Interactions Summer School on June 23-27, 2025 in Wimereux, France

We offer an intensive programme (30h training) with a few general lectures focused on the sediment-water interactions and measurements of exchanges at sediment-water interface, but also field and experimental demonstrations of measurements using various and cutting-edge approaches.

This training is certified by the University of Lille, allowing participants to obtain a certificate corresponding to a 30h training (ECTS Doctoral credits).

Specific questions that will be addressed during the Sediment-Water Interactions Summer School 2025 :

What are the main Interactions between sediments and water ?

Total vs diffusive exchanges ? State of the Art and background

How to measure sediment-water interactions and/or exchanges ?

Methodological approaches (sediment-water flux measurements, microsensors, Porewater extraction and analysis, Diffusion Gels) with field trip (estuary) & Lab. Demonstrations (benthic chambers, microsensors, core incubations, ...)

How can we apply our knowledge of sediment-water interactions to solve problems in the near future ?
