Oxford Symposium on Religion & History

Keble College, University of Oxford | 3–5 August 2026

Held at Keble College in the heart of Oxford and founded from The Oxford Movement, the Oxford Symposium on Religion & History brings together scholars from across the disciplines of Religious Studies, Theology, Church History, Catholic Studies, Historical Theology, Philosophy of Religion, Intellectual History, and British Religious History for three days of rigorous academic exchange in one of the world's most storied intellectual settings.

Unlike narrow specialist conferences, this symposium is designed for broad engagement — welcoming scholars from diverse faith traditions and research backgrounds to present papers, lead discussions, and explore the intersections of religion and history in an atmosphere of openness and mutual respect. The 2026 Summer Session will be hosted by Rev. Canon Brian Mountford MBE, Canon Emeritus of Christ Church Cathedral and one of the former Vicars of the University Church of St Mary the Virgin, Oxford.

Presenting scholars may also opt into the Immersive Oxford Experience package, which includes lodging at Keble College, meals in the Gothic Dining Hall.
