Alex Neve:

– A dedicated Amnesty member for two decades, his journey began during his student years at Dalhousie University.

– Mr. Neve has undertaken research missions to numerous nations, advocating for human rights and justice.

Sarah Teich:

– An accomplished international human rights lawyer based in Toronto.

– Renowned for advising organizations on justice and accountability for atrocity crimes and human rights abuses worldwide.

– Recognized with prestigious awards, including the 2022 Hon. David Kilgour Global Humanitarian Leader of the Year Award.

David Matas:

– Award-winning international human rights lawyer, author, and researcher based in Winnipeg.

– Appointed a Member of the Order of Canada in 2008 and nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize for his work on forced organ harvesting.

– A senior fellow at the Raoul Wallenberg Centre for Human Rights.

Joanne Hodges:

– A distinguished member from the Alliance of Genocide Victim Communities

Davut Akça:

– Assistant Professor in Criminology at Lakehead University, holding a Ph.D. in Forensic Psychology and an M.A. in Criminology.

– Credentialed Evaluator (CE) and has significant experience in both research and teaching.

– Research interests include topics such as investigative interviewing, policing, program evaluation, radicalization, and hate crimes.

Dr. Peter J. Stoett:

– Serves as the Dean of Social Science and Humanities at Ontario Tech University in Oshawa, Ontario.

– Previously, was the founding Director of the Loyola Sustainability Research Centre and Chair of the Department of Political Science at Concordia University in Montreal.

– Research expertise spans international relations and law, global environmental politics, human rights, biodiversity conservation policy, transnational environmental crime, climate justice, and genocide and war crimes prevention and punishment.

Mark Kersten:

– Senior Consultant at the Wayamo Foundation and an Assistant Professor of Criminology and Criminal Justice at the University of the Fraser Valley in Canada.

– His research primarily centers on topics related to the investigation and prosecution of international crimes, mass atrocity responses, and prevention.

– Delves into the impacts of International Criminal Court (ICC) interventions on conflict, peace, and justice, capacity-building for accountability in international crimes, and the connection between mass atrocities and transnational organized crime.

Mukesh Kapila:

– Possesses extensive expertise in global and public health, international development, humanitarian affairs, conflict and security matters, human rights, and diplomacy.

– Has held leadership positions in various sectors, including government, the United Nations system, international organizations like the International Red Cross and Red Crescent, civil society, and academia.

– An accomplished author and a sought-after public speaker in the media.

Ewelina U. Ochab:

– Lawyer, human rights advocate, and author, known for her work on genocide and the persecution of ethnic and religious minorities globally.

– Program lawyer with the IBA’s Human Rights Institute and co-founder of the Coalition for Genocide Response.

– Authored numerous reports for the UN, focused on issues such as conflict-related sexual violence, abductions and illegal adoptions of Ukrainian children in Russia, and is credited with proposing the establishment of the UN International Day Commemorating the Victims of Acts of Violence Based on Religion or Belief on August 22.
