Science and Philosophy in Indian Knowledge System

The intellectual and technological tradition of India dates back to thousands of years. Vedic oral tradition speaks of its existence from a time scale that transcends ordinary perception. A holistic approach to all branches of rational inquiry and intellectual efforts is a hallmark of the Indian Knowledge System (IKS). Often this ancient knowledge system has been classified into chaturdasha (14) vidya and chatuhshasthi (64) kala. The subject of inquiry spans over practically all branches of human enquiry, viz., architecture and engineering, pure sciences, earth sciences, bio sciences, literature, philosophy, law and justice, grammar, mathematics and astronomy, metrics, agriculture, mining, metallurgy, trade and commerce, ayurved and yoga, medicine and life sciences, geography, military science, etc.

In this conference, we are going to focus on the underlying science, philosophy and technology behind IKS and most notably its relevance in solving contemporary scientific, philosophical and practical problems of society.

Although not restricted, जिज्ञासा-2022 international conference welcomes papers in three primary areas, i.e., the fundamental science of matter, mind and consciousness, the technological applications in IKS and the core philosophical foundation that makes the whole system holistic. The event is being organised by Institute for Science and Spirituality (ISS) in association with IKS Division of AICTE, Ministry of Education, Govt of India and Noida International University (NIU).
