Hull International Conference on Loneliness - The Search for Belonging on June 27, 2023 in Hull, United Kingdom

Loneliness affects one-fourth of our adult population and one-third of older adult population. Loneliness is often stigmatised and ignored. Nevertheless left unaddressed loneliness is sadly a killer through it increasing the risk of both physical health and mental health problems including increasing the risk of suicide.

This one-day in-person conference is being organized in Hull, UK with the main purpose of raising awareness about this growing public health problem in the UK and Worldwide, in a bid to attempt to destigmatise it, and to finds ways to tackling it by increasing opportunities for belonging.

The speakers of this conference come from various professional backgrounds but they all have something to say and do about loneliness.

The intended audience for this conference are healthcare and social care professionals, policymakers, community volunteers, carers and anyone who has been working in tackling loneliness, or interested to be doing so in the future.

A central aim of this conference is to enable networking between attending delegates in this conference with the sincere hope that new and fruitful collaborations will be formed that will pave the way for newer and more creative initiatives to destigmatising and tackling loneliness in the UK and globally.

There will also be exhibitors at this conference who will showcase some of their good work in both destigmatizing loneliness and tackling it through their unique initiatives.

Refreshments and a boxed lunch will be provided during the conference and is included in the delegate fee.
