Global South Brain Health Conference (GSBHC) February 10, 2027 - Kigali, Rwanda

The Global South Brain Health Conference will convene on 10–11 February 2027 in 

Kigali, Rwanda, as a side event of the Africa–Nordic Health Conference: Kigali Edition. 

The conference will bring together neurologists, psychiatrists, neurosurgeons, 

researchers, policymakers, digital health innovators, AI experts, patient advocates, and 

development partners. 

The conference provides a unique opportunity to elevate brain health and mental health 

within global health and NCD agendas. It will foster partnerships, strengthen health 

systems, encourage investment in neuroscience education and research, and accelerate the 

adoption of digital health solutions, including telemedicine and AI-assisted diagnostics. 

Objectives:

• Strengthen collaboration in brain health and mental health research and care. 

• Promote capacity building for clinicians and healthcare professionals. 

• Encourage innovation in diagnosis, treatment, and management of neurological 

disorders. 

• Increase public awareness and reduce stigma. 

• Support integration of brain health into broader NCD strategies. 

• Foster partnerships between governments, academia, civil society, and the private 

sector.

• Stroke and cardiovascular neurological complications 

• Headaches and chronic neurological pain disorders

Conference Format:
