The Geological-Engineering Integration Symposium will be held in Shanghai on October 22, 2026, as a featured technical event of Energy China Forum 2026 — the 16th Asia-Pacific Unconventional Energy Conference.Rather than serving as a general drilling or fracturing meeting, the symposium will examine how geological understanding informs well placement, trajectory design, completion, stimulation and development decisions, and how drilling and production feedback continuously updates subsurface models.Commercial development of unconventional, low-permeability, deep and complex reservoirs requires geological, geophysical, petrophysical, geomechanical, reservoir, drilling, completion, stimulation, production and economic information to operate as a connected decision-making workflow.The programme will examine how subsurface knowledge is translated into practical decisions involving sweet-spot selection, well placement, geosteering, completion design, stimulation strategy, well spacing, development sequence and production optimization.A distinctive feature of the symposium is its emphasis on continuous feedback.
