Celebrate Reading Conference October 28, 2022 - Fremantle, Australia

Our 2022 Celebrate Reading Conference takes place on Friday 28 and Saturday 29 October. Join us and experience two days of ideas, inspiration, and insights into creating Australian picture books and junior fiction for children.  


This year we will be joined by an outstanding lineup of Australian artists;


Morris Gleitzman, Jackie French AM, Marc McBride, Kirli Saunders, Sean E. Avery, Cristy Burne, Gabriel Evans, Deb Fitzpatrick, James Foley, Dr. Helen Milroy and Dianne Wolfer.


The Literature Centre's Celebrate Reading Conference offers an atmosphere and venue like no other. This year we are excited to reveal that the session for the Conference will be held at a larger seated venue within the Fremantle Prison, with opportunities to browse exhibitions and the bookshop at the Centre.


As always Celebrate Reading Conference runs no concurrent sessions. Registration includes two full days of sessions and all tea breaks, lunches, and a Sundowner on the final day. Delegates receive a generous tote bag on arrival and there are multiple prizes are to be won between sessions. 


Presenters offer outstanding discussions on key issues in Australian children's literature including the importance of First Nations voices, writing for diverse learning abilities, history meets imagination, reaching the digital child with stories, insights into creating new work. Plus there will be ample book signing opportunities with all the presenters!
