Call for Papers: The 17th Annual Meeting and International Forum on “Diversified Symbiosis of Civilizations and Mutual Learning for Shared Development”

The 17th Annual Meeting of the Academy for International Communication of Chinese Culture, Beijing Normal University, will be held on Friday, November 27th, 2026, in Beijing, China. We are now inviting scholars worldwide to submit papers and participate in the forum, which centers on the theme “Diversified Symbiosis of Civilizations and Mutual Learning for Shared Development.”


I. Conference Theme and Sub-themes

Main Theme: Diversified Symbiosis of Civilizations and Mutual Learning for Shared Development

In the face of numerous global challenges, the international community must consider it an imperative to actively promote intercultural exchanges and mutual learning among civilizations. Therefore, we advocate a vision of civilization based on equality, mutual learning, dialogue, and inclusiveness. Scholars are encouraged to explore how intercultural exchanges can contribute to shared development while preserving civilizational diversity.

Suggested sub-themes include (but are not limited to):

A few sub-topics for reference (but not limited to):

1. Pathways to Global Development from the Perspective of Diversified Civilizations

2. Practical Mechanisms for Civilizational Symbiosis Beyond “the Clash of Civilizations”

3. Development Models of Different Civilizations and Mutual Learning for Shared Prosperity

4. Civilizational Heritage and Innovation in the Digital Age

We also welcome submissions on other relevant topics. Selected papers will be published on The Third Pole Culture series or recommended to academic journals.

• Venue: 6th Meeting Room, Jingshi Hotel, Beijing Normal University, Beijing, China

• Registration: 8:00–8:40 AM

• Languages: Chinese and English (simultaneous interpretation provided)

No registration fee is required. Participants are expected to cover their own travel and accommodation expenses.


III. Submission Guidelines and Deadlines

1. Submission Timeline:

o June 30th, 2026: Submit paper title, abstract (approx. 300 words), author bio, and a personal photo to [email protected]

o July 30th, 2026: Notification of accepted papers and registration opening

o September 30th, 2026: Submission of full paper

o October 30th, 2026: Final revision and editing for publication

3. Author Information: Please include the following information on the first page: full name, nationality, affiliation, educational background, academic title, contact information, and a personal photo.

4. Format Requirements:

o Chinese papers: Song typeface, size 10.5; footnotes numbered per page (①); minimal use of images and references

o English papers: Follow the Chicago Manual of Style (16th Edition)

5. Copyright: Submission of Chinese papers implies consent for publication by the organizing committee unless otherwise stated.
